Looking Back at Our Roots

RealSource Properties was founded 35 years ago in 1989 with the ideal of helping people feel at home investing in real estate. We began by providing educational seminars and resources using carefully gleaned processes and insights. Our aim was to simplify the complexity of investing in multifamily real estate.

One aspect that made people feel at home with our team was our earnest and consultative approach, providing insights that enabled sound decisions. They also appreciated our model, which utilized econometric indicators and followed market trends. This allowed them to employ cutting-edge, data-based strategies and find opportunities outside of the mainstream real estate market.

Investors felt so at home that they eventually asked us to enhance our level of support in their investment journey. We responded by developing new opportunities for our investors, and RealSource also invested capital alongside its longtime partners. This synergy was ideal as we pursued multifamily asset purchases, having already built trust by identifying the right assets and opportunities.

As RealSource Properties grew, we enhanced our economic expertise, asset management abilities, and multifamily capabilities. We began to specialize in value-add purchases, finding properties with significant upside for both the investor and residents.

Property Management Our Way

When we decided to bring our property management functions in-house, it offered another way to make people feel at home. Having end-to-end control over the experience ensured a quality customer experience—with investors, asset management, corporate support, and onsite associates all aligned.

Creating our national property management team was a significant development, scaling our unique RealSource culture. Our onsite associates quickly felt at home, too. This journey from teaching investors how to buy real estate, to investing alongside them, to fine-tuning our data and asset strategy, has been a significant step forward.

National Recognition in 2024

Fast forward to 2024, RealSource Properties was recognized as the #1 company nationally by an independent research firm in its Best Places to Work in Multifamily rankings. The award process was genuine, not the typical PR awards that guarantee a trophy with payment and participation.

This recognition followed seven years of partnership with the survey researchers, taking their data and feedback to improve our practices. There were no shortcuts; it took a commitment to our people, creating a place where they feel at home, and sustaining it month after month, year after year for over 7 years as we kept working to change for the better.

In addition to this honor, RealSource Properties was also recognized by the National Apartment Association (NAA) as one of the top ten nationally in the 2024 NAA Top Employers Awards. This distinction highlights our ongoing commitment to excellence in the multifamily industry and our dedication to creating a supportive and thriving workplace for our associates.

New Tagline is More Than a Promotion

Looking back on our 35-year tradition of making people feel at home—whether as investors, residents, or associates—it made sense to make this sentiment a part of our brand. Brands often have taglines; adding “Feel at Home” to our branding is not just for promotion.

Feel at Home

It is a stronger promise to the customer, letting potential residents, future employees, and investors know what we value. We care about the numbers, the business details, and high-performing properties. But we also take a personal interest in people to ensure they feel at home working, living, or investing with us at RealSource Properties.

People are increasingly looking for places where they can feel something different. We will continue to work hard to offer them the chance to join us at RealSource Properties, creating that place for them here.
